Global Influence Mapping for Rare Disease

Situation
A biopharma company developing a new treatment for a rare disease engaged us to set up the KOL infrastructure for a global launch. The need was to:
- Identify KOLs in 19 countries outside of the US
- Obtain the complete scientific history of all KOLs
- Map the influence of KOLs and identify influential community doctors
- Identify DOLs worldwide sharing digital content on this disease
- A platform to track activities of KOLs and DOLs

Adnexi Approach
We deployed the Adnexi platform to perform an algorithmic search for the disease of interest in 19 countries. We deployed the Adnexi Influence Mapping process to obtain peer-nominations of influential health care providers treating this disease. We also deployed our DOL search to find leaders posting digital content on the disease.
Results
This customized KOL and DOL platform delivered ranked data that contained:
- >5,300 authors in the disease of interest
- >11,500 articles published on the disease
- 109 clinical trials working to develop treatments for this condition
- Identification of influential community physicians treating the disease of which the client was previously unaware
- 60 DOL profiles with social feed tracking
